Bilo-Bilo with Ginataang
A traditional Filipino dessert made with rice cakes, coconut milk, and sweetened with sugar. This recipe combines the classic flavors with a refreshing twist.
Ingredients
- β250g Bilo-Bilo (Rice Cakes)
- β1 cup Coconut milk
- β1 cup Sugar
- β1 cup Water
- β1/4 cup Ginataang (Coconut Cream)
- β1/2 cup Mildly sweetened condensed milk
- β1 tablespoon Bitter melon seeds
- β1 teaspoon Food coloring (optional)

Combine water and sugar in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.

Add coconut milk, ginataang, and sweetened condensed milk. Cook until mixture thickens.

Add rice cakes (bilo-bilo) to the saucepan. Cook for about 5 minutes or until they absorb the mixture.

Add bitter melon seeds and stir well. Cook for another minute.

Remove saucepan from heat. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to tint the dessert.

Transfer the dessert to individual serving bowls or a large serving dish.
