Spicy Thai Tofu Stir-Fry
A spicy and flavorful stir-fry made with tofu, Thai chili peppers, and a blend of aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- β250g firm tofupressed and drained
- β2 Thai chili pepperssliced
- β2 tablespoons mildly spicy oilsuch as vegetable oil with a pinch of cayenne pepper
- β1 cup kanomchopped
- β2 tablespoons kochopped
- β2 cloves garlicminced
- β1 shallotschopped
- β1 tablespoon fish sauceoptional
- β1 tablespoon brown sugaroptional
- β2 tablespoons rice vinegaroptional
Instructions

In a small bowl, whisk together mildly spicy oil, fish sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar (if using). Set aside.

In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of mildly spicy oil over medium-high heat.

Add the sliced Thai chili peppers and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Add the chopped kanom and ko and cook until they start to soften, about 2 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and chopped shallots and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Add the pressed tofu and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.

Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet and stir to combine.

Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until the sauce has thickened and the tofu is coated.

Season with salt to taste.
