Ingredients
- β500g Ground Meat (Beef or Lamb)You can use a combination of beef and lamb for a more authentic flavor.
- β1 medium OnionFinely chopped
- β3 cloves GarlicMinced
- β1/4 cup ParsleyChopped
- β1/4 cup BreadcrumbsPanko or regular
- β1 EggBeaten
- β1 tsp Salt
- β1 tsp Black Pepper
- β1 tsp Paprika
- β1 tsp Cumin
Instructions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).
- 2
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, black pepper, paprika, and cumin. Mix everything together with your hands until just combined.
- 3
Don't overmix the mixture, as this can make the kofte dense and tough.
- 4
Use your hands to shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm) in diameter. You should end up with around 20-25 kofte.
- 5
Place the kofte on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving a little space between each one to allow for even cooking.
- 6
Bake the kofte in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they're cooked through and lightly browned on the outside.
- 7
While the kofte are baking, prepare the garlic sauce. Simply mix together 1/2 cup of mayonnaise, 1 minced garlic clove, and 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley in a small bowl.
- 8
Once the kofte are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet.
- 9
Serve the kofte hot with a dollop of garlic sauce on top. You can also serve them with a side of rice, salad, or grilled vegetables.
