Pan-Seared Xiaolongbao with Miso Glaze
A fusion dish combining the traditional Chinese soup dumplings with a savory miso glaze. A perfect appetizer or snack.
Ingredients
- β12 pieces Xiaolongbao
- β2 tbsp Miso paste
- β2 tbsp Soy sauce
- β1 tbsp Honey
- β1 tsp Rice vinegar
- β1-inch piece Ginger
- β2 cloves Garlic
- β1/4 cup pickled Beet
- β1 tsp Glazed Chinese mustard

In a small saucepan, combine miso paste, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and grated ginger.

Whisk until smooth and bring to a simmer over medium heat.

Reduce heat to low and let the glaze simmer for 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Add 2 tbsp of oil and sear the xiaolongbao until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.

Remove the dumplings from the skillet and place them on a plate.

Brush the miso glaze over the xiaolongbao and garnish with pickled beet and glazed Chinese mustard.
