Croatian Broad Bean Gratin
A hearty, creamy gratin made with broad beans and a crispy crust. Perfect for a comforting dinner.
Ingredients
- ●1 pound, trimmed and sliced broad beansfresh or frozen
- ●8 ounces buttery croatian pastaor substitute with similar pasta
- ●1 cup, shredded molten cheesesuch as cheddar or mozzarella
- ●2 tablespoons all-purpose flourfor thickening the sauce
- ●1 cup heavy creamor substitute with half-and-half
- ●to taste saltoptional
- ●to taste pepperoptional
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, sauté the sliced broad beans in butter until tender.

In a separate saucepan, melt the molten cheese over low heat until smooth.

Add the heavy cream to the cheese sauce and stir until well combined.

Stir in the flour to thicken the sauce.

Add the cooked pasta to the cheese sauce and stir until coated.

Transfer the pasta mixture to a baking dish.

Top with additional molten cheese and breadcrumbs if desired.
