Greek Baklava
A classic Greek pastry dessert made with layers of phyllo and nuts, held together with a sweet honey syrup.
Ingredients
- ●1 package (usually 20-24 sheets) phyllo
- ●1 cup mediterranean
- ●1/2 cup dough
- ●1/2 cup baklava
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).

Thaw the phyllo dough according to package instructions.

Mix together the mediterranean ingredients and set aside.

Layer 5-6 sheets of phyllo in a 9x13 inch baking dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter.

Sprinkle 1/4 cup of the mediterranean ingredients over the phyllo layer.

Repeat the phyllo and mediterranean layers 3 more times, ending with a layer of phyllo on top.

Cut the baklava into diamond-shaped pieces and bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown.

While the baklava is baking, prepare the honey syrup by mixing together 1 cup of honey and 1 cup of water in a saucepan.

Bring the honey syrup to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.

Remove the baklava from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.

Drizzle the honey syrup over the baklava and serve warm.
