Spiced Halibut Gratin
A flavorful and moist halibut dish, baked in a creamy gratin with a hint of spice.
Ingredients
- ●4 Halibut filletsFresh and sustainable
- ●1 cup Nordic crème fraîcheCan be substituted with regular crème fraîche
- ●1/2 cup Norwegian spiced breadcrumbsHomemade or store-bought
- ●1/2 cup Grated Gruyère cheeseCan be substituted with other hard cheeses
- ●1/4 cup Fresh parsleyChopped and used for garnish
- ●2 cloves GarlicMinced and sautéed with halibut
- ●to taste SaltUse high-quality, flaky salt
- ●to taste Black pepperFreshly ground
- ●2 tbsp ButterUnsalted and softened

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

Season halibut fillets with salt and black pepper.

In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.

Sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Add halibut fillets to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

Transfer halibut to a baking dish and set aside.

In a separate bowl, mix Nordic crème fraîche and grated Gruyère cheese.

Sprinkle Norwegian spiced breadcrumbs on top of the halibut fillets.

Pour the crème fraîche mixture over the halibut, making sure they are fully coated.

Dot the top with remaining butter.
