Korean Fried Chicken Bites
Crispy fried chicken bites tossed in a sweet and spicy Korean-inspired sauce.
Ingredients
- β1 pound chicken breastcut into bite-sized pieces
- β1 cup all-purpose flourfor dredging
- β1/2 cup cornstarchfor dredging
- β2 teaspoons fried chicken seasoningor to taste
- β1 teaspoon korean chili flakesor to taste
- β1 eggbeaten
- β2 cups vegetable oilfor frying

In a shallow dish, mix together flour, cornstarch, and fried chicken seasoning.

Add the beaten egg to another shallow dish.

Dredge the chicken pieces in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.

Dip the floured chicken in the egg, making sure they're fully coated.

Dredge the egg-coated chicken in the flour mixture again, pressing the coating onto the chicken to adhere.

Heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

When the oil is hot, add a few of the coated chicken pieces to the skillet.

Fry the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Remove the fried chicken from the oil with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Repeat with the remaining chicken pieces.

In a small bowl, whisk together the Korean chili flakes and about 2 tablespoons of the fried chicken's pan drippings.

Toss the fried chicken in the spicy sauce until coated.
