Nourishing Malaysian Fried Rice
A simple, comforting dish packed with protein and fiber. This recipe is inspired by Southeast Asian flavors.
Ingredients
- β2 cups cooked Ricepreferably leftover or day-old
- β1 block (14 oz) Tofudrained and cubed
- β2 tbsp Vegetable oil
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β2 cloves Garlicminced
- β1 tbsp Soy sauce
- β1 tsp Sesame oil
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Pepper
Instructions

Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the tofu and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Add the remaining 1 tbsp of vegetable oil to the skillet.

Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 2-3 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add the cooked rice to the skillet, breaking up any clumps with a spatula.

Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.

Add the cooked tofu back into the skillet and stir to combine.

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the rice is well coated with the flavors.

Serve hot and garnish with chopped scallions if desired.
