Ground Beef German Casserole
A hearty, comforting casserole filled with ground beef and savory German flavors.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Ground beef80/20 lean to fat ratio
- β1 large OnionChopped
- β1 teaspoon Caraway seedsToasted
- β1 teaspoon PaprikaSweet
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black pepper
- β2 tablespoons Tomato paste
- β1 cup Beef brothLow-sodium
- β8 ounces Egg noodlesDry
- β1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add chopped onion, toasted caraway seeds, sweet paprika, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Cook until onion is translucent.

Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Add beef broth to the skillet and bring to a simmer. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked egg noodles, ground beef mixture, and shredded cheddar cheese.

Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish and cover with aluminum foil.
