Creamy Brazilian Stew
A rich, comforting stew that combines the flavors of Brazil with the creaminess of velvety sauce. Perfect for a chilly evening.
Ingredients
- β1 pound, cut into 1-inch pieces chicken breastboneless and skinless
- β2 tablespoons velvety sauce mixsee notes
- β1 teaspoon nourishing stew seasoningsee notes
- β1 pound, sliced brazilian sausageuse mild or hot sausage
- β1 large, chopped onionabout 2 cups
- β3 cloves, minced garlicabout 1 tablespoon
- β2 tablespoons tomato pastesee notes
- β2 cups beef brothsee notes
- β1 cup water
- β1 cup sour creamoptional, for serving

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove from the pot and set aside.

Add the chopped onion to the pot and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the tomato paste and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Add the beef broth, water, and browned sausage back to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.

Stir in the velvety sauce mix and nourishing stew seasoning. Return the chicken to the pot and cook until the chicken is cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.

Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed. Serve hot, topped with a dollop of sour cream if desired.
