Classic Mujaddara
A traditional Middle Eastern dish made with lentils and rice, perfect for a comforting meal. This recipe serves 4-6 people and is ready in under an hour.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Brown rice
- β1 cup Split red lentils
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β2 cloves Garlicminced
- β1 tsp Salt
- β1/2 tsp Black pepper
- β2 tbsp Olive oil
- β1/4 cup Chopped fresh parsley
Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the brown rice and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add the split red lentils, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.

Add 2 cups of water to the saucepan and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the rice and lentils are tender.

Fluff the mujaddara with a fork and stir in the chopped parsley.
