Ethiopian Stew Recipe
A hearty and flavorful Ethiopian stew made with fish, vegetables, and spices.
Ingredients
- β400g fish(florets)any firm white fish
- β2 medium crisp carrotspeeled and sliced
- β2 medium stew tomatoeschopped
- β1 large nutty onionschopped
- β ethiopian spicesberbere, cumin, coriander, garlic powder, salt and black pepper
- β oilolive oil

Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onions and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for a further 5 minutes.

Add the fish florets and cook until they start to flake, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the berbere spice mix and cook for a further minute.

Add the sliced carrots and cook until they start to soften, about 5 minutes.

Season with salt, black pepper, cumin, coriander, and garlic powder.

Simmer the stew for 10-12 minutes or until the fish is cooked through and the carrots are tender.

Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh herbs if desired.
