Knafeh with Cheese and Eastern Spices
A unique twist on the classic Middle Eastern dessert, this knafeh recipe combines nutty flavors with creamy cheese and eastern spices.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Knafeh cheese
- β1 tsp Middle eastern spicesincluding cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves
- β1 package Nutty pastry doughsuch as phyllo or baklava dough
- β1/2 cup Sugar
- β2 tbsp Ghee or unsalted butter
- β1 tsp Rose wateroptional
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).

Unroll the nutty pastry dough and cut it into small squares.

In a bowl, mix together the knafeh cheese, middle eastern spices, and sugar.

Place a square of pastry dough in the bottom of a baking dish.

Spread a layer of the cheese mixture on top of the pastry.

Repeat the layers, ending with a layer of pastry on top.

Dot the top of the pastry with ghee or unsalted butter.

Bake the knafeh for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.

Drizzle with rose water, if using.
