Saudi Arabian Chicken Tagine
A flavorful North African-inspired stew from Saudi Arabia, perfect for a post-workout meal.
Ingredients
- β1 lb chicken breastboneless and skinless
- β2 tbsp olive oiluse for sautΓ©ing
- β1 large onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β6-8 fatty saudi datespitted
- β2 tsp tagine spice blendor to taste
- β1 cup chicken brothlow-sodium
- β1/2 cup wateroptional

Heat the olive oil in the bottom of a large clay or ceramic pot over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the chicken breast and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-6 minutes.

Add the pitted dates and tagine spice blend; cook for 1-2 minutes.

Pour in the chicken broth and add water if desired; bring to a simmer.

Reduce heat to low and cover; let cook for 20-25 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
