Wonton Soup with Chinese Flair
A light and savory soup featuring wontons filled with a delicious katsuobushi and oozing cheese mixture, served in a richly flavored broth.
Ingredients
- β12-15 wrappers Wonton wrappers (chinese)
- β2 tablespoons Katsuobushi (Japanese dried and fermented bonito flakes)Soak in water for 10 minutes to rehydrate before using
- β1 cup shredded Oozing cheese
- β1/4 cup chopped Charred scallions (for garnish)
- β4 cups Vegetable broth
- β2 tablespoons Soy sauce
- β1 tablespoon Sesame oil
- β1-inch piece Ginger
- β2 cloves Garlic
- β Salt and pepper

1. Bring the vegetable broth to a boil.

2. Reduce heat and add soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic.

3. Simmer for 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

4. Soak katsuobushi in water for 10 minutes to rehydrate.

5. Drain and chop katsuobushi.

6. In a bowl, mix together katsuobushi, oozing cheese, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

7. Lay a wonton wrapper on a clean surface.

8. Place a tablespoon of the katsuobushi mixture in the center of the wrapper.

9. Dip your finger in water and run it along the edges of the wrapper.

10. Fold the wrapper into a triangle by bringing the two opposite corners together to form a point.

11. Press the edges together to seal the wonton.

12. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

13. When the broth is ready, add the wontons and cook for 2-3 minutes or until they float to the surface.
