Egyptian Duck Pilaf
A flavorful and aromatic Middle Eastern-inspired dish featuring tender duck, fluffy rice, and spices.
Ingredients
- ●1 (1.5 lbs) Duck breast
- ●1 cup Fluffy ricepreferably jasmine or basmati
- ●2 tsp Egyptian pilaf spice blend
- ●2 tbsp Olive oil
- ●1 medium Onionchopped
- ●2 cloves Garlicminced
- ●1 tsp Salt
- ●1/2 tsp Black pepper
- ●1/4 cup Fresh parsleychopped

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

Rinse the duck breast and pat it dry with paper towels.

Season the duck with salt, black pepper, and 1 tsp of Egyptian pilaf spice blend.

Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.

Sear the duck breast for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned.

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast the duck for 15-20 minutes, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

While the duck is cooking, heat the remaining 1 tbsp of olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add the jasmine rice to the saucepan and stir to coat with oil and mix with the onion and garlic.

Add 2 cups of water to the saucepan and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid has been absorbed.

Fluff the cooked rice with a fork and stir in the remaining 1 tsp of Egyptian pilaf spice blend.

Once the duck is cooked, let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.

Serve the sliced duck atop the fluffy Egyptian rice, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
