Syrian Bean Casserole
A hearty, flavorful casserole inspired by Syrian cuisine, made with beans, spices, and a crispy baked top.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 cups Canellini beans, drained and rinsed
- β2 tablespoons Olive oil
- β1 medium Onion, chopped
- β2 cloves Garlic, minced
- β1 teaspoon Cumin
- β1/2 teaspoon Paprika
- β1/2 teaspoon Salt
- β1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
- β1 cup Crusty bread, torn into pieces
- β1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Add the cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute.

Stir in the cooked beans and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Transfer the bean mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Top the bean mixture with the torn crusty bread and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
