Braised Chicken Mexican Dumplings
A twist on traditional dumplings with a Mexican braised chicken filling.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- β12-15 wrappers Dumpling wrappers
- β1 cup Mexican braising liquid (see below)
- β2 tablespoons Olive oil
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β2 cloves Garlicminced
- β1 teaspoon Cumin
- β1/2 teaspoon Chili powder
- β1/4 teaspoon Salt
- β1/4 teaspoon Black pepper

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute.

Add the chicken breasts and cook until browned on both sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and cover with the Mexican braising liquid.

Place the dumpling wrappers on a clean surface and brush with water.

Place a tablespoon of the braised chicken mixture in the center of each wrapper.

Fold the wrapper into a triangle and press the edges together to seal.

Place the dumplings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Brush the tops with olive oil and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
