American Style Oven-Baked Beef Burger
A classic American take on a traditional burger, with a crusted beef patty and baked in the oven for a healthier twist.
Ingredients
- β1 pound ground beef
- β1 teaspoon beef seasoning
- β4 buns
- β1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- β1/2 cup crushed crackers
- β1 egg
- β1/2 cup milk
- β1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- β1 onion
- β1 head lettuce
- β1 tomato
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
- 2
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, beef seasoning, and egg. Mix well with your hands until just combined.
- 3
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball. Flatten each ball slightly into a disk shape.
- 4
In a shallow dish, mix together crushed crackers and a pinch of salt. Coat each beef patty with the cracker mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- 5
Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of vegetable oil and swirl to coat.
- 6
Add the crusted beef patties to the skillet and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned.
- 7
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the beef is cooked to your desired level of doneness.
- 8
While the beef is cooking, toast the buns by placing them on the middle rack of the oven for 2-3 minutes, or until lightly browned.
- 9
Assemble the burgers by spreading a layer of cheese on the bottom bun, followed by a cooked beef patty, a lettuce leaf, a tomato slice, and finally the top bun.
- 10
Serve immediately and enjoy!
