Spanish Perilla Paella
A traditional Spanish paella recipe with the addition of perilla leaves for a unique twist. Perfect for a summer dinner party.
Ingredients
- β1 bunch Perilla leaves
- β1 cup Spanish rice
- β2 Dense tomatoes
- β1/4 cup Packed olives
- β1 can Leafy artichoke hearts
- β2 tsp Spanish smoked paprika
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Pepper
- β2 tbsp Olive oil
Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large paella pan over medium-high heat.

Add the packed perilla leaves and cook until wilted, about 2 minutes.

Add the Spanish rice and cook, stirring constantly, for 2-3 minutes.

Add the dense tomatoes, leafy artichoke hearts, and smoked paprika. Stir to combine.

Add 2 cups of water to the pan and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 20-25 minutes or until the rice is tender.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve hot, garnished with additional perilla leaves if desired.
