Moroccan Tofu Mesmen
A flavorful and spicy Moroccan-inspired dish featuring crispy tofu and served with a twist on traditional mesmen.
Ingredients
- β1 block (14 oz) Tofu
- β2 cups Flourall-purpose flour
- β1 tsp Salt
- β1 tsp Cumin
- β1 tsp Paprika
- β2 tbsp Olive oil
- β1 medium Onion
- β3 cloves Garlic
- β1 tsp Chili flakes
- β1 package (8 sheets) Mesmen
Instructions

Preheat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium-high heat.

Cut the tofu into small cubes and place on a plate.

In a shallow dish, mix together flour, salt, cumin, and paprika.

Dredge the tofu cubes in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.

Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the preheated pan and cook the tofu until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

In a separate pan, heat the remaining olive oil over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add the chili flakes and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Warm the mesmen sheets according to package instructions.

To assemble the dish, place a sheet of mesmen on a plate, followed by a few pieces of the cooked tofu, and top with the spicy onion and garlic mixture.
