Canadian Lentil Skillet
A hearty and flavorful skillet dish featuring sautéed lentils, crispy Canadian bacon, and a touch of pan-seared goodness.
Ingredients
- ●4 slices Canadian baconthinly sliced
- ●1 medium red onionthinly sliced
- ●1 medium red bell pepperthinly sliced
- ●1 cup lentilscooked
- ●2 cloves garlicminced
- ●2 tbsp tomato pastecrushed
- ●2 tbsp olive oildivided

Instructions

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the Canadian bacon and cook until crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet.

Add the sliced onion and bell pepper and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the garlic, tomato paste, cooked lentils, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.

Return the cooked Canadian bacon to the skillet and stir to combine.

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the flavors have melded together.
