German Pork Stew
A hearty and flavorful stew made with tender pork and a blend of traditional German spices.
Ingredients
- β1.5 pounds pork shoulder
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β2 medium carrotpeeled and chopped
- β2 medium potatopeeled and chopped
- β2 tablespoons peppercornswhole
- β1 teaspoon dried thyme
- β1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- β2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- β2 cups beef broth
- β1 cup red wine

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Sear the pork shoulder until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Remove the pork from the pot and set aside.

Add the chopped onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the chopped carrot and potato to the pot and cook for 5 minutes.

Add the peppercorns, thyme, and rosemary to the pot and cook for 1 minute.

Add the flour to the pot and cook for 1 minute.

Add the beef broth and red wine to the pot, stirring to combine.

Return the pork to the pot and bring to a boil.
