Pan-Seared Saudi Arabian Lamb Kebabs
A flavorful and aromatic lamb kebab dish inspired by Saudi Arabian cuisine, featuring tender lamb skewers seared to perfection in a pan.
Ingredients
- β500g Lamb shoulder, cut into 1-inch cubesYou can also use lamb neck or lamb shank.
- β2 tablespoons Olive oilYou can adjust the amount according to your preference.
- β1 teaspoon Coarse saltYou can also use sea salt or kosher salt.
- β1/2 teaspoon Black pepperYou can adjust the amount according to your preference.
- β2 tablespoons Ghee or vegetable oilYou can adjust the amount according to your preference.
- β1 large Onion, thinly slicedYou can use red onion or yellow onion.
- β2 cloves Garlic, mincedYou can adjust the amount according to your preference.
- β1/4 cup Fresh parsley, choppedYou can use fresh cilantro instead.
- β1/4 cup Fresh mint, choppedYou can use fresh cilantro instead.
- β2 tablespoons Lemon juiceYou can adjust the amount according to your preference.

In a large bowl, combine lamb cubes, olive oil, coarse salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the lamb is evenly coated.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.

Preheat a large non-stick pan or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.

Remove the lamb from the refrigerator and thread the lamb cubes onto skewers, leaving a small space between each piece.

Add the skewers to the preheated pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the lamb is browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness.

Transfer the skewers to a plate and cover with foil to keep warm.

In the same pan, add ghee or vegetable oil and swirl to coat the bottom.

Add the sliced onion and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until softened and lightly browned.
