Turkish Steak Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic tagine dish from Turkish cuisine, made with tender steak and a rich piquant sauce.
Ingredients
- β500g steakbeef steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- β2 tbsp piquantharissa-like spice blend
- β1 tbsp turkishpaprika, sumac, cumin
- β1 medium taginea type of slow-cooked stew
- β2 tbsp olive oilfor cooking
- β2 cloves garlicminced
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β1 can tomatoesdiced

Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the garlic and onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the steak and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the piquant, turkish, and tagine to the pot and stir to coat the steak.

Add the diced tomatoes and stir to combine.

Bring the mixture to a simmer, then cover the pot and transfer it to the oven.

Bake at 300Β°F (150Β°C) for 1-2 hours, or until the steak is tender.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.
