Bengali-Style Fish Tikka Masala
A flavorful and aromatic Indian-inspired dish made with marinated fish cooked in a rich tikka masala sauce.
Ingredients
- β4 Fish fillets (any white fish)About 1 inch thick
- β1 cup Plain yogurt
- β2 tbsp Lemon juice
- β1 tsp Ginger paste
- β1 tsp Garlic paste
- β2 tsp Tikka masala powder
- β1 tsp Salt
- β1 tsp Black pepper
- β4 tbsp Butter
- β1 large Onion
- β2 tbsp Tomato puree
- β1/2 cup Heavy cream

1. In a large bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, ginger paste, garlic paste, tikka masala powder, salt, and black pepper.

2. Add the fish fillets to the marinade and mix well to coat.

3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.

4. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

5. Remove the fish from the marinade and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

6. In a large saucepan, melt 2 tbsp of butter over medium heat.

7. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

8. Add the tomato puree and cook for 1-2 minutes.

9. Add the heavy cream and stir to combine.

10. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until slightly thickened.

11. Stir in the remaining 2 tbsp of butter until melted.

12. Add the cooked fish to the sauce and simmer for 1-2 minutes to coat.
