- β1 package of pizza dough doughhomemade or store-bought
- β1 cup shredded oaxacan cheesequeso fresco or asadero work well
- β2 whole bay leavesfor flavoring the oil
- βvegetable oil for frying friedabout 2-3 inches deep in a pot
- β1 tablespoon fixall-purpose flour, for dusting
