Uruguayan Pungent Cheese Fritters
A simple recipe that combines the flavors of Uruguayan cheese with pungent ingredients, perfect as a snack or appetizer.
Ingredients

- ●1 clove One (1) ripe pungent garlic clove, minced
- ●1/2 cup 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- ●1/4 teaspoon 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- ●1/4 teaspoon 1/4 teaspoon salt
- ●1/4 cup 1/4 cup water
- ●2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- ●1 onion 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- ●1/2 cup 1/2 cup grated Manchego cheese
- ●1 egg 1 large egg, lightly beaten

1. Preheat the oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat to 375°F (190°C).

2. In a large bowl, mix together the crumbled Manchego cheese, minced garlic, flour, paprika, and salt.

3. Add the sliced onions to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the cheese mixture.

4. Using your hands, shape the onion mixture into small patties.

5. Dip each patty into the beaten egg and then roll it in the grated Manchego cheese to coat.

6. Carefully place the fritters into the hot oil and fry for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown.
