Slovakian Chicken Pilaf
A hearty Slovakian-inspired dish featuring chicken and pilaf, cooked to perfection.
Ingredients
- β1 pound chicken breastboneless, skinless
- β1 cup pilafuncooked
- β4 ounces slovakian sausagesuch as kielbasa
- β1 medium onion
- β3 cloves garlic
- β1 teaspoon salt
- β1/2 teaspoon pepper
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β2 cups chicken broth

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the chicken and cook until browned on both sides, about 5-6 minutes.

Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Add the sausage to the skillet and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes.

Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the pilaf to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add the chicken broth to the skillet and bring to a boil.

Return the chicken to the skillet and reduce heat to low.

Simmer, covered, for 10-12 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the pilaf is tender.
