Tunisian Lamb Casserole
A hearty and flavorful casserole dish featuring lamb and a blend of Tunisian spices.
Ingredients
- ●1 pound Lamb shoulderCut into 1-inch cubes
- ●2 tablespoons Olive oil
- ●1 medium OnionChopped
- ●3 cloves GarlicMinced
- ●2 teaspoons Tunisian spice blend
- ●2 tablespoons Tomato paste
- ●1 can Chickpeas
- ●1 cup Rice
- ●2 cups Water

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).

Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the lamb and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is translucent.

Stir in the Tunisian spice blend and cook for 1 minute.

Add the tomato paste and cook for 1 minute.

Add the chickpeas, rice, and water. Stir to combine.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover the Dutch oven and transfer it to the preheated oven.

Bake for 30 minutes, then reduce the heat to 325°F (165°C) and continue baking for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the lamb is tender.
