Braised Beef Stew
A hearty stew made with tender beef, vegetables, and a rich, flavorful sauce.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Beef Stew Meat
- β2 medium Onion
- β3 medium Carrot
- β2 large Potatodiced
- β2 tablespoons All-purpose Flourto thicken
- β2 cups Beef Brothlow-sodium
- β1 cup Red Wine (optional)for added depth
- β2 tablespoons Quality Beef Dripingsfor richness
- β1 teaspoon Russian Seasoning

Heat oil over medium-high heat in a large Dutch oven.

Brown the beef on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Remove the browned beef from the pot.

Add the onion and carrot to the pot, cooking until they begin to soften.

Add the flour and stir to combine, cooking for 1-2 minutes.

Gradually add the beef broth, whisking continuously.

Return the browned beef to the pot, along with any accumulated juices.

Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 2-3 hours, or until the beef is tender.

Add the potatoes and red wine (if using), and continue to simmer for another 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

Stir in the beef dripings and Russian seasoning.
