Uruguayan Empanadas
A classic Uruguayan dish filled with gooey cheese and savory meat, perfect for a snack or light meal.
Ingredients
- βall-purpose 2 cups all-purpose flourfor the dough
- β1 cup 1 cup warm waterfor the dough
- β1/4 cup 1/4 cup uruguayan cheesefor the filling
- β1/2 cup 1/2 cup ground beeffor the filling
- β1/4 cup 1/4 cup chopped onionfor the filling
- β1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon olive oilfor brushing the dough
- β1 egg 1 egg, beatenfor brushing the dough

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Combine flour and warm water to form the dough.

Knead the dough for 5 minutes until smooth.

Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.

Mix the cheese, beef, onion, and olive oil for the filling.

Roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness.

Cut out circles of dough using a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.
