Peanut Tagine Chicken with German Twist
A hearty German-inspired dish with the flavors of North Africa and the richness of peanuts.
Ingredients
- β1 pound chicken breastboneless, skinless
- β2 tablespoons peanutschopped
- β2 tablespoons butterunsalted
- β2 teaspoons tagine spice mix
- β1 cup quenched chicken broth
- β1 tablespoon syrian honey
Instructions

Season the chicken breast with salt and pepper.

In a large pan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat.

Add the chicken and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.

In the same pan, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter and the peanuts.

Cook for 1-2 minutes, until the peanuts are fragrant.

Add the tagine spice mix, chicken broth, and honey to the pan.

Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

Return the chicken to the pan and cook until cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.

Serve hot, garnished with chopped peanuts if desired.

Traditionally, a tagine is cooked in a clay pot with a conical lid.

If you have access to a tagine, feel free to use it! Otherwise, a Dutch oven or large saucepan will work.
