Argentinian Empanadas
Delicious empanadas from Argentina, filled with beef and onions, fried to perfection.
Ingredients
- β500g Ground Beef80/20 lean to fat ratio
- β1 medium OnionChop finely
- β1 large EggFor egg wash
- β2 cups All-purpose FlourFor dough
- β1 tsp SaltTo taste
- β1 tsp Black PepperTo taste
- β1 cup Vegetable OilFor frying

1. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

2. Gradually add water to the flour mixture, kneading until a dough forms.

3. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll out each piece into a thin circle.

4. In a pan over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.

5. Add chopped onion to the pan and cook until softened.

6. Brush the edges of the dough circles with egg wash.

7. Place a tablespoon of the beef and onion mixture onto the center of each dough circle.

8. Fold the dough in half and press the edges together to seal the empanada.

9. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.
