Malaysian Beef Stir Fry
Quick and flavorful beef stir fry with a Malaysian twist. This dish is great as a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- β1 pound beef (sirloin or ribeye)cut into thin strips
- β2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- β1 medium onionthinly sliced
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 medium bell pepperthinly sliced
- β2 tablespoons soy sauce
- β1 tablespoon fish sauce
- β1 tablespoon sugar
- β1 teaspoon chili flakes
- β1 cup bean sprouts

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the beef and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from the wok and set aside.

Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the wok.

Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is translucent, about 2-3 minutes.

Add the bell pepper and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Add the soy sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and chili flakes to the wok. Stir to combine.

Add the cooked beef back into the wok and stir to combine with the sauce.

Add the bean sprouts to the wok and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Serve the beef stir fry hot over steamed rice.
