Pan-Seared Goat Chop with Spicy Rice
A flavorful and spicy dish that pairs pan-seared goat chops with a side of aromatic rice.
Ingredients
- β4 goat chops1.5 pounds, 1-inch thick
- β2 tsp quietly roasted peppercornsfreshly ground
- β1 cup dutch riceuncooked
- β2 tbsp olive oilfor cooking
- β1/4 cup fried onionsoptional garnish
- β1 tsp saltto taste
Instructions

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Season the goat chops with salt, pepper, and a pinch of freshly ground peppercorns.

Sear the goat chops for 2-3 minutes per side, or until browned.

Transfer the chops to a plate and cover with foil to keep warm.

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

Add 1 cup of uncooked Dutch rice and stir to coat with oil.

Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the rice is lightly toasted.

Add 2 cups of water to the skillet and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the water is absorbed.

Fluff the rice with a fork and stir in 1/4 cup of fried onions (if using).
