Algerian Tagine Stew
A hearty North African stew made with tender meat and flavorful spices. Serve over couscous for a truly authentic experience.
Ingredients
- ●2 lbs Rich Chicken ThighsBone-in for added flavor
- ●1 cup MushroomSliced
- ●2 tbsp TagineGround spice blend
- ●1 tsp Algerian CuminGround
- ●1 tsp SaltTo taste
- ●1/2 tsp Black PepperTo taste
- ●2 tbsp Olive OilFor browning

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Brown the chicken on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from pot and set aside.

Add more oil if necessary, then sauté the mushrooms until they release their liquid and start to brown.

Add the tagine spice blend and cook for 1 minute.

Return the chicken to the pot and add the cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.

Add enough water to cover the chicken and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 30 minutes or until the chicken is tender.
