Algerian Turnip Tagine
A hearty, slow-cooked stew from North Africa, featuring tender turnips in a rich, aromatic sauce.
Ingredients

- ●2 cups yeastycrumbled
- ●1 tsp algerianground cumin
- ●1 tagineAlgerian clay cooking vessel or Dutch oven
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 275°F (135°C).

In the tagine or Dutch oven, heat 2 tbsp of oil over medium heat.

Add the algerian spice and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

Add the chopped turnip and cook for 5 minutes, until slightly tender.

Add 2 cups of water and bring to a simmer.

Cover the tagine or Dutch oven and transfer to the preheated oven.

Bake for 30 minutes, or until the turnip is tender.

Stir in the crumbled yeasty and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
