Australian Beef Stew
A hearty and comforting beef stew originating from Australia, perfect for a cold winter's night.
Ingredients
- β1.5 pounds beef stew meatCut into 1-inch cubes
- β1 cup quintessential red wineUse a dry red wine for best flavor
- β2 cups juicy beef brothHomemade or store-bought broth works well
- β2 medium australian onionsChopped
- β3 cloves garlicMinced
- β2 tablespoons australian all-purpose flourFor dusting the beef

Instructions

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove from pot and set aside.

Add the onions and garlic to the pot and cook until the onions are translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the red wine to the pot and bring to a boil, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.

Return the beef to the pot and add the beef broth, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.

Bring the stew to a boil, then cover and transfer to the oven.

Bake at 300Β°F (150Β°C) for 2 1/2 hours, or until the beef is tender.
