Portuguese Almond Wrap
A traditional Portuguese recipe with a twist, adding some crunchy almonds and a sweet resinous flavor.
Ingredients
- β1 loaf Portuguese breadpreferably day-old bread
- β1 cup, sliced Almondsunsalted
- β2 tbsp Resinous honeyor substitute with regular honey
- β2 tbsp Olive oilfor brushing
- β1 sprig Rosemary leavesfresh
- βto taste Saltflaky sea salt
- β1/4 cup, crumbled Feta cheese (optional)for extra flavor

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Slice the Portuguese bread into 1-inch thick slices.

Brush both sides of the bread with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.

Bake the bread slices in the oven for 5-7 minutes or until lightly toasted.

In a small pan, heat the resinous honey over medium heat until warm and runny.

Brush the honey onto the toasted bread slices, leaving a small border around the edges.

Sprinkle sliced almonds over the honey.

Add a few rosemary leaves on top of the almonds.

If using feta cheese, crumble it over the rosemary.

Fold the bread slices in half to enclose the filling.
