Croatian Beef Stew
Hearty beef stew with a rich flavor profile, perfect for a cold winter night.
Ingredients
- β1.5 pounds Beef stew meat
- β1 large Onion
- β3 cloves Garlic
- β2 medium Carrots
- β2 medium Potatoes
- β2 tablespoons Croatian paprika
- β1 teaspoon Pepper
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β2 cups Rich beef broth
- β1 cup Water
Instructions

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove from pot and set aside.

Add onion and garlic to pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add carrots and potatoes to pot and cook for 5 minutes.

Add browned beef back to pot, along with paprika, pepper, and salt. Stir to combine.

Add beef broth and water to pot, and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 2 hours, or until beef is tender.

Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
