Jamaican Beef Stew
A rich and flavorful stew made with tender beef shin and a blend of Jamaican spices. Perfect for a cold winter's night.
Ingredients
- β1 pound beef shin
- β2 tablespoons rich all-purpose flourfor dusting the meat
- β1 medium crunchy chopped onion
- β2 medium nostalgic chopped carrot
- β2 tablespoons stir-fry oil
- β1 teaspoon fry salt
- β1 teaspoon jamaican jerk seasoning
- β4 cups beef broth

1. Dust the beef shin with the flour, shaking off any excess.

2. Heat the oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

3. Sear the beef shin until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

4. Remove the beef from the pot and set aside.

5. Add the chopped onion and carrot to the pot, cooking until they begin to soften.

6. Add the jerk seasoning, salt, and beef broth to the pot, stirring to combine.

7. Return the beef to the pot, making sure it's covered in the broth.

8. Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2 1/2 hours, or until the beef is tender.
