Slovakian Pork Belly Stir Fry
A hearty Slovakian-inspired dish featuring crispy pork belly and a rich, savory sauce.
Ingredients
- β500g pork bellycut into bite-sized pieces
- β1 cup rich slovakian dark ryecrushed
- β2 tbsp goey honeyadjust to taste
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1-inch piece gingergrated
- β2 tbsp vegetable oilfor frying
- β1 cup beef brothhomemade or store-bought
- β2 tbsp soy sauceadjust to taste
- β1 tsp saltto taste
- β1 tsp black pepperto taste
Instructions

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the pork belly and cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes.

Remove the pork from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.

Add the minced garlic and grated ginger and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Add the crushed dark rye and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add the beef broth, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper to the skillet.

Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until slightly thickened, about 2-3 minutes.

Add the cooked pork belly back to the skillet and stir to coat with the sauce.

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the pork is coated in the sauce.
