Syrian Chocolate Fritters
A unique twist on traditional fritters, combining the rich flavors of Syria with the sweetness of chocolate.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- β1 cup granulated sugar
- β1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- β1 teaspoon baking powder
- β1/4 teaspoon salt
- β2 large eggs
- β1/2 cup melted unsalted buttercooled
- β1 cup rich chocolate chips
- β1 cup confectioners' sugarfor dusting

Preheat the oil in a deep frying pan to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and melted butter.

Add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and stir until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Using a piping bag or a spoon, drop the batter into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.

Fry the fritters for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fritters from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
