Algerian Tagine Cake with Ricotta Glaze
A rich dessert made with roasted tagine spices, topped with a creamy ricotta glaze. Perfect for a sweet treat.
Ingredients
- β1 cup RicottaWhole-milk ricotta
- β2 tsp Rich Tagine Spice BlendStore-bought or homemade
- β1/2 cup Roasted AlmondsChopped
- β1 cup Caster Sugar
- β2 Large Eggs
- β1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, softened

Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).

Grease a 9-inch (23cm) round cake pan and dust with caster sugar.

In a large bowl, whisk together ricotta, tagine spice blend, and roasted almonds.

Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition.

Melt butter and allow to cool slightly.

Whisk in melted butter and mix until smooth.

Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth top.

Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Remove from oven and let cool in pan for 5 minutes.

Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

To make ricotta glaze, whisk together ricotta and 1 tablespoon caster sugar in a bowl until smooth.
