Uruguayan Cheese Sandwich
A classic Uruguayan dish, this rich and smoky cheese sandwich is perfect for a quick meal or snack.
Ingredients
- β8 oz (225g) Uruguayan cheesesuch as quesito or chivo
- β4 oz (115g) Rich, smoky deli meatsuch as chorizo or morcilla
- β1 loaf Crusty breadsuch as baguette or ciabatta
- β2 tbsp Butter
- β1/4 cup Fresh parsleychopped
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black pepper
Instructions

Preheat a griddle or pan over medium heat.

Butter one side of each slice of bread.

Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, on the griddle.

Top with a slice of deli meat, a few slices of cheese, and a sprinkle of parsley.

Place the second slice of bread, butter-side up, on top of the filling.

Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Flip the sandwich over and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the other side is also golden brown.
