Spiced Naan Bread
A classic Indian flatbread infused with aromatic spices. Serve warm with your favorite curries.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- β1 cup warm water
- β1 teaspoon yeast
- β1/2 teaspoon salt
- β2 tablespoons ghee or oil
- β1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
- β1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- β1/4 teaspoon garam masala

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt.

Gradually add the warm water to the dry ingredients and knead for 5 minutes.

Add the ghee or oil, cumin seeds, chili powder, and garam masala to the dough and knead for another 2 minutes.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

Preheat a non-stick skillet or tava over medium heat.

Punch down the dough and divide it into 6-8 equal portions.

Roll out each portion into a ball and then flatten it slightly into a disk shape.

Place the naan breads on the preheated skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown and puffed up.
