Norwegian Smoked Cheese Casserole
A hearty, comforting casserole filled with the rich flavors of Norwegian smoked cheese.
Ingredients
- β1 cup, shredded Norwegian Smoked Cheese
- β1/2 cup, grated Smoked Cheese
- β1/2 cup Heavy Cream
- β2 tablespoons Butter
- β2 tablespoons Flour
- β1/2 teaspoon Salt
- β6 slices Bread, gluten-free
- β1/4 cup, chopped Fresh Parsley

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the flour and whisk to make a roux, cooking for 1 minute.

Slowly pour in the heavy cream, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.

Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until thickened.

Remove from heat and stir in the shredded Norwegian smoked cheese until melted.

In a separate pan, toast the gluten-free bread slices until lightly browned.

Cut the toasted bread into 1-inch cubes and set aside.

In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, create a layer of bread cubes.

Pour half of the cheese sauce over the bread, followed by half of the grated smoked cheese.
