Algerian Chicken Tagine
A traditional Algerian dish made with chicken and spices. Serve over couscous with fresh parsley.
Ingredients
- β1 pound chicken breastdiced
- β2 tablespoons algerian spice blend
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 tablespoon gingergrated
- β1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- β1/2 teaspoon cumin
- β1/4 teaspoon salt
- β1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the onion, garlic, and ginger and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the chicken to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the algerian spice blend, cinnamon, cumin, salt, and pepper to the skillet and stir to combine.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes.

Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
